It is vital that all pharmaceutical waste is disposed of correctly and according to the latest guidelines. This is due to the potential level of toxicity of this type of waste as well as the great risk it poses if the waste ends up in the wrong hands. All pharmaceutical waste is incinerated in our approved incinerator. We have been safely disposing of pharmaceutical waste for many years - always giving you appropriate documentation for your records.
Sharps Disposal
If you are a business who produces sharps waste (biomedical waste that could pierce or puncture skin) then you are legally required to dispose of the waste according to the latest health and safety regulations.
We provide all of our sharps customers with colour coded bins so that the waste can be correctly segregated and disposed of. The coloured bins represent each type of sharp being disposed, the type of premises being taken from and the corresponding rules. If you get rid of sharps incorrectly, it can lead to injury, infection and business fines. The WGS team can give you additional support if you feel unsure about the differing waste disposal channels.
